What is a plan owner?

A plan owner is the person in charge of the plan. They have the authority to make changes to cover, or update personal details connected to the plan.

Usually, the plan owner is a life covered by the plan, but this isn’t always the case.

There can be more than one owner on the plan, which is often the case with joint plans. Joint plans need both owners to agree to changes that impact the plan, like changes to cover.
