You may be eligible to receive a cash payment following the birth or legal adoption of a child. The benefit is paid once per child, even if both parents are covered on the plan. You can see the amount we will pay out in your membership certificate.

Things you need to know

You will need to make your claim within 6 months of the birth or adoption of your child, unless prevented from doing so by exceptional circumstances.
You can only claim this benefit once per child - if more than one parent is insured, we will only pay to one parent.
You will need to have had 10 months or more of continuous health cover prior to the birth of your child to be able to claim. However, if you have adopted, this does not apply.
If you have adopted your child, the child must be under 18 at the time of adoption for you to claim.

How to claim the benefit

If you've already added your child to your plan, then you can just email info@vitality.co.uk and ask to claim for the Childbirth Cash Benefit.

If you've not yet added your baby to your plan, you will need to email a copy of the baby's birth certificate, or relevant adoption paperwork, to SPP_claims@vitality.co.uk to claim this benefit.
