Attending your appointment

When you attend your appointment for treatment, make sure to bring along:

  • a note of your authorisation number, which you can find in your recent claims in CareHub

  • a list of any questions that you may have

  • a pen and paper to make notes

You might also want to check with your GP or consultant to see if they suggest taking anything with you.

Further treatment

If your consultant says you need further treatment, you will need to contact us again to request approval for your next stage of care. You will need the following details:

  • the date of treatment(s)

  • the expected length of stay/number of extra treatment sessions – as either an out-patient, day-patient, or in-patient

  • the hospital and consultant’s name

  • the procedure code - this is called a CCSD code

In some cases, when you submit a request for further treatment through CareHub, we will be able to provide an immediate response. If we can't respond immediately, we aim to get back to you by the end of the next working day.

Similarly, if you call us, we try to make a decision immediately. If we need to ask your health provider or GP for more information first, we aim to contact you with our decision within five working days of receiving this.
