Diagnostic tests
If your GP has referred you for any tests or scans and asked you to return to them with the results, these will not be covered. This is because your GP considers it appropriate to continue managing your care.
We only look to cover:
Eligible tests and scans referred by your consultant.
Minor diagnostic tests, such as blood tests or x-rays, ordered by a private Face-to-Face GP in our approved network, using the Primary Care benefit.

If your consultant refers you for out-patient diagnostic tests, you’ll need to have Out-patient Diagnostics cover in place. This covers you for eligible tests such as blood tests, X-rays and ultrasound scans up to the limit shown on your membership certificate. Select the Out-patient option below to learn more.
If your GP* has referred you to a consultant for further tests or investigations, you’ll need to start a new claim to see what cover is available. If it relates to an existing claim, choose the relevant claim from your Recent Claims section.
